A ACET Scholarship for young African researchers, with a deadline of 7 September 2026, represents a unique and invaluable opportunity for the development of research capacity in Cape Verde. This initiative by the African Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET) aims to empower the next generation of thought leaders and policy-makers in Africa, and the archipelago, with its growing ambition in areas such as the blue economy and renewable energy, is perfectly positioned to benefit from this programme.
The scholarship is aimed at qualified young researchers who wish to deepen their knowledge and contribute innovative solutions to the continent’s socio-economic challenges. For Cape Verde, this means the opportunity to train specialists in areas crucial to its future. Imagine the impact of a young Cape Verdean researcher conducting studies on adaptation to climate change, optimising the sustainable tourism value chain, or exploring new technologies for the digitalisation of the economy.
Participation in this initiative not only fosters the individual development of the scholarship holder, but also strengthens Cape Verde’s educational institutions and research centres. On their return, these young people will bring with them not only in-depth knowledge, but also international networks and a global perspective, which are essential for driving innovation and the formulation of effective policies. ACET is seeking talented individuals capable of producing high-quality research that is relevant to Africa’s development priorities.
It is crucial that potential applicants in Cape Verde understand the importance of preparing robust research proposals that are aligned with ACET’s objectives. Originality, sound methodology and the potential impact on policy-making are key criteria. We strongly encourage all talented young people from Cape Verde to explore this opportunity and submit their applications. Investing in research is investing in the future of Cape Verde and Africa.
