Centralizing the Future: Driving Intercultural Innovation in Cape Verde with the UNAOC/BMW Hub 2026
Cape Verde, an archipelago with a rich cultural tapestry and a strategic location in the Atlantic, is positioning itself at the forefront of intercultural innovation through the program. UNAOC/BMW Intercultural Innovation Hub 2026This ambitious initiative aims to equip young Cape Verdeans with the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to become agents of change, fostering dialogue and understanding between diverse cultures, both nationally and internationally. With potential funding of up to £14,200,000, the hub represents an unprecedented opportunity to catalyze social and cultural entrepreneurship, with projects that address contemporary challenges and promote peaceful coexistence and collaboration.
We believe that innovation does not arise in isolation, but rather from the fruitful interaction of different perspectives. The UNAOC/BMW 2026 Hub will be a catalyst for this interaction, offering a conducive environment where young entrepreneurs, artists, activists, and community leaders can develop their ideas. The program will encompass a series of training activities, workshops, mentoring with recognized experts, and networking opportunities, focusing on crucial areas such as conflict resolution, digital creativity for cultural promotion, sustainable entrepreneurship with social impact, and the development of engaging intercultural narratives. By empowering these young people, we are investing in Cape Verde's human capital and building bridges between communities.
The selection of participants will be rigorous, prioritizing projects that demonstrate strong potential for impact, scalability, and a genuine commitment to the values of UNAOC (United Nations Alliance of Civilizations) and BMW, the pillars of this collaboration. Projects that explore the richness of Cape Verdean traditions, promote linguistic diversity and social inclusion, or use technology to build intercultural dialogues will be especially encouraged. The funding provided may cover costs for prototype development, awareness campaigns, content production, travel for exchanges, and other essential expenses for the implementation of the projects.
This Hub is not just a funding program, but an innovation ecosystem that will connect young Cape Verdeans with a global network of innovators and experts. By participating, beneficiaries will have the opportunity to present their projects in international forums, attract more investment, and collaborate with peers of different nationalities, solidifying Cape Verde's role as a center of excellence in intercultural innovation. We are confident that the legacy of this hub will be a significant increase in Cape Verde's capacity to respond creatively and collaboratively to global challenges, strengthening its identity and projecting it to the world.
Applications for the UNAOC/BMW Intercultural Innovation Hub 2026 will be open until April 15, 2026.
