Applications are now open for the EMBracing the Ocean Artist-in-Residence Program 2024-2025 The European Marine Board (EMB) is seeking two new artists/artist groups for the 2024-2025 edition of the program. As we enter the fourth year of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, the need to connect people to the ocean is more important than ever.

The EMBracing the Ocean program offers grants to creative individuals/groups from a wide range of disciplines to engage in a two-way co-creation of artworks in collaboration with ocean scientists. The program's objectives are to raise societal awareness of the value of the ocean and inspire behavioral change towards a sustainable future, while contributing new knowledge and/or perspectives to the scientific research process.
