Are you a feminist or women's rights organization working in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine or Yemen, the Horn of Africa, the Sahel region, French-speaking Africa, or Portuguese- or Arabic-speaking countries? AWDF is a pan-African organization and, while we recognize the significant needs of women, girls and people with gender diversity everywhere we work, for this cycle we are prioritizing applications for work in French-speaking countries.
Are you a women-led organization that has been formally registered for at least three years (prior to June 2020)? The AWDF defines a women-led organization as one whose Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer are women or non-binary, and where at least 701% of the organization's board members and staff are women or non-binary.

What, when, and how?
For this grant round, the AWDF will award grants ranging from US$20,000 per year to US$500,000 per year. We can provide grants for up to 20 months in this cycle, and you can apply to... a of the following three types of bags:
- Pamoja: You can request a maximum of US$$ 500,000 per year for 20 months.
- Ananse: You can request a maximum of US$$ 200,000 per year for 20 months.
- Yalla: You can request a maximum of US$$ 50,000 per year for up to 20 months.
AWDF expects to receive hundreds of funding requests. In this cycle, we anticipate awarding the following number of each type of grant:
- Three (3) Pamoja bags
- Six (6) Ananse scholarships
- Eleven (11) Yalla bags
You can claim up to 50% of your verified 2022 income. For example, if your confirmed income for 2022 was US$600,000, you can apply for a maximum of up to US$300,000 per year for 20 months. If your confirmed income for 2022 was R$40,000, you can apply for a maximum of up to R$0,000 per year for 20 months.
