Applications for the fourth edition of the Cabo Verde Digital Scholarship program close on January 31st, and the goal is to select 25 projects from 50 Cape Verdean entrepreneurs.

Funded by the Employment and Training Promotion Fund and implemented by the Cabo Verde Digital program, this scholarship aims to develop and promote an environment conducive to technological innovation in the country. It is intended for Cape Verdean nationals aged 18 to 35, residing in the archipelago, with higher education, vocational training, or in their final year of study in Information and Communication Technology or related fields.

Candidates cannot own a company or startup with more than two years of experience, must be unemployed, and must demonstrate immediate and exclusive availability to fulfill the program's schedule.

Programme overview

Idea development

Developing skills for conducting market research and consolidating a business idea.

Technological development

Development of technical skills to create a prototype solution, following best practices in UI/UX.

Business development

Development of business skills, for the formalization of the company and preparation for the financing application, if applicable.

The selection criteria

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old, and not have benefited from the CVD scholarship program in previous editions.
  • Cape Verdean nationals or descendants of Cape Verdeans, residing in the national territory.
  • Have a higher education degree or vocational training (level 3 to 5), or be in the final year of a course in ICT or related fields.
  • Not owning a company or startup with a maturity exceeding 24 months.
  • Being unemployed or not affiliated with any government institution, or having a permanent employment contract.
  • Must have immediate and exclusive availability to fulfill the program's schedule.
