26 September 2026: Global Mental Health Fellowship – Cohort 5 – A Transformative Opportunity for Cape Verde
Mental health, a cornerstone of social and individual wellbeing, has been gaining increasing global recognition, and in Cape Verde, its importance is undeniable. It is with great enthusiasm that we present the opportunity to join the Global Mental Health Fellowship – Cohort 5, with applications open until 26 September 2026. This Fellowship is a programme of excellence, designed to equip professionals and leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to tackle the complex challenges of mental health on a global scale.
Cape Verde, with its young and dynamic population, faces unique circumstances and challenges when it comes to mental health. Factors such as social pressure, migration, the impact of climate change and, more recently, the repercussions of the pandemic, call for innovative and tailored responses. The inclusion of Cape Verdean professionals in this global fellowship serves as a vital bridge for the exchange of best practice, the acquisition of new skills and the development of strategies tailored to the reality of the archipelago.
This fellowship offers a holistic perspective on mental health, covering everything from public policy to community intervention, including research and innovation. Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with world-renowned experts, exchange experiences with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and actively contribute to building a healthier and more resilient future. For Cape Verde, this means strengthening its national capacity in mental health, reducing the stigma associated with these conditions, and improving access to and the quality of care.
We firmly believe that investing in the training of leaders and professionals in the field of mental health is an investment in the future of Cape Verde. This Fellowship is not merely a training programme; it is a catalyst for change, a seed for progress and a commitment to the wellbeing of all Cape Verdeans. We invite all passionate and dedicated professionals to explore this unique opportunity.
