O Prize UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa for the Utilisation of the ICT in the Education is now open to recognise innovative approaches in harnessing new technologies to expand educational and lifelong learning opportunities for all, in line with the Agenda for Sustainable Development. Sustainable Development 2030 and its Goal 4 on education.

Theme

The 2022 edition immediately follows the launch of the "Call to Action: ensuring and improving quality public digital learning for all" during the Transforming Education Summit (TES) in September 2022, which reaffirms that the digital revolution must be harnessed to ensure the provision of quality education and lifelong learning as a public good and a human right for all, with particular emphasis on the most marginalised. The 2022 edition therefore focuses on three keys to universal public digital education, rewarding projects that have made public digital learning platforms and digital content universally accessible, developed digital skills for all teachers and students, and promoted universal connectivity in education.
