Registration for membership in World Food Forum (WFF) Youth Policy Council 2024-2026 Applications are open. The WFF Youth Action and Policy Track aims to connect and empower young people from diverse backgrounds around the world to discuss their local priorities and challenges and identify innovative and viable solutions for a better food future. One of the key components of Youth Action and Policy is the Youth Policy Board (YPB), which governs the WFF Youth Assembly.

The objective of this group is to govern the Youth Assembly, develop policy positions for youth on food and agricultural issues, and coordinate regional activities, providing strategic guidance for upcoming important events and the Youth Assembly throughout the year and during the WFF's annual flagship event. The objective of the Youth Assembly is to open dialogue on regional and thematic areas for policy contributions, develop opinions, and co-organize/brainstorm activities for the WFF Youth Action Programme.

Co-leading the WFF Youth Assembly, which discusses various policy priorities and develops policy recommendations around agri-food systems issues;
Join a powerful network of change agents in agri-food systems, including other YPB members, the WFF secretariat, partner organisations and constituents, and FAO regional and liaison offices;
Receive limited support for travel and accommodation to participate in the main annual WFF event, held at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy;
To receive training and development opportunities, and the chance to participate in various WFF projects and initiatives;
Gain visibility through opportunities to speak at various global, regional, and local policy-related events;
Leveraging the WFF secretariat's network and resources to empower young people to transform agri-food systems;
Gain visibility through social media channels and the WFF's partner network.

Eligibility

Any interested individual between the ages of 18 and 35 is welcome to join the new group. The applicant must be 35 years old or younger during the term (i.e., until April 2026).
Sufficient proficiency in spoken and written English.
Availability and ability to participate in regular meetings of the Youth Policy Board (YPB).
Experience and interest in agri-food systems issues.
To uphold the core values of WFF.
Ability to dedicate approximately 20 hours per month to the role.
