Applications are now open for  ETH4D Teacher Exchange Scholarships 2024 The Faculty Exchange Grants are divided into the ETH4D Visiting Scientist Grant and the ETH4D Teaching Stay Grant. ETH4D offers grants to visiting scientists from academic institutions in low- and lower-middle-income countries. The visiting scientist may visit ETH Zurich for a short research stay or to participate in a conference or workshop organized by ETH Zurich scientists.

ETH4D supports teaching activities of ETH scientists or emeritus professors at partner institutions in low- and lower-middle-income countries. These activities include giving lectures, courses, or seminars; or participating in collaborative meetings.

Subsidies

• The ETH4D Visiting Scientist Grant is limited to a maximum of 10,000 CHF.
• The ETH4D Study Grant is worth a maximum of 5,000 CHF.

Eligibility

Visiting Scientist

• The visiting scientist must be affiliated with an institution in a country classified in the categories according to the OECD's DAC list. Preference will be given to "least developed," "low-income," and "lower-middle-income" countries.
• There are existing or planned research collaborations with the host professor.
• Proven academic qualifications.

Teaching stay

• The call is open to researchers from all disciplines within the ETH domain.

• Letter of support from the ETH professor

Application documents for Teaching Residency

• Description of the academic stay
• Budget (using  budget template ), including a detailed statement of the funds requested and all sources of funding, as well as the contribution of applicants and partners to the costs (in cash and/or in kind)
• Candidate's CV (max. two pages)
• Letter of support or invitation from the host partner university.
