International Scientific and Literary Residency Opportunity in New York
O The Cullman Centre for Researchers and Writers The New York Public Library offers an exceptional opportunity for academics, essayists, novelists, poets and artists from Cape Verde seeking to advance their creative or research projects. Each year, this international fellowship programme selects a small group of talented individuals from around the world to work directly at one of the world’s most prestigious cultural institutions, fostering a dynamic and enriching intellectual exchange.
During the 2027–2028 academic year, the selected fellows will have unlimited access to the New York Public Library’s extensive collections, manuscripts and rare archives. In addition, the programme provides an individual workspace in the historic Stephen A. Schwarzman Building and awards a substantial financial grant to cover living costs. This framework enables researchers and creators to devote themselves fully to developing their work, whether in the humanities, literature or the arts.
