With the aim of promoting inclusion and scientific excellence, the CIP fellowship programme for emerging researchers with disabilities seeks to open new doors in the field of scientific research in Cape Verde. This pioneering initiative recognises the untapped potential of individuals with disabilities and the importance of their contribution to the advancement of knowledge. The programme is designed to support researchers at the start of their careers, providing them with the resources, mentoring and supportive environment needed to develop innovative and impactful research projects. The main aim of this fellowship programme is to address existing gaps in support for researchers with disabilities, who often face additional barriers to accessing research opportunities. Through a rigorous and thorough selection process, promising talents will be identified who will benefit from substantial financial support, privileged access to state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, and a personalised mentoring programme with experienced scientists.
