One of the most significant aspects of this transformation is the changing nature of teaching and the role of teachers. To address these critical changes, the&nbsp;<strong>Salzburg Global Seminar<\/strong>&nbsp;is launching a programme called&nbsp;<strong>\"The Future of Teaching\",<\/strong>&nbsp;bringing together key stakeholders from around the world to discuss and shape the future of education over the next decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Programme Overview:<\/strong>&nbsp;This programme will explore three main areas that are driving change in education:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Teacher recruitment and retention:<\/strong>\u00a0With many regions facing severe teacher shortages, the programme will examine how teacher expectations are evolving and where innovations are being implemented to meet these challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Impact of Artificial Intelligence:<\/strong>\u00a0AI presents both opportunities and threats to the teaching profession. This programme will explore how AI is being used to improve teaching and where these innovations can be replicated or adapted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Transformation Initiatives\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/opportunitiesforyouth.org\/2024\/08\/13\/the-future-of-teaching-a-global-initiative-to-shape-the-next-decade-of-education\/#\">\u00a0Education<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0: The United Nations' global initiative on Transforming Education has led to significant policy changes. This programme will explore the teaching profession's involvement in this global movement and how teachers can connect directly with policymakers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participant Profile:<\/strong>&nbsp;The programme will bring together around 50 participants, including teachers, teaching unions, policymakers, researchers and civil society organisations. Participation is by invitation or enrolment, and the application window is open from&nbsp;<strong>24th July<\/strong>&nbsp;a&nbsp;<strong>4th September 2024<\/strong>&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Programme format:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Online co-creation meetings:<\/strong>\u00a08 October, 21 October and 18 November 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Face-to-face programme:<\/strong>\u00a08 to 13 December 2024, at the Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Continuous online engagement:<\/strong>\u00a0until 2025, with a cadence decided by the participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Programme objectives:<\/strong>\u00a0Participants will take part in a highly participatory process, co-creating the structure of the programme and its outcomes.
