At Earthna, they recognise the profound value that traditional wisdom has in achieving sustainability. To continue this dedication, they launched the Earthna Prize, an initiative that aims to celebrate and support projects, actors and systems that work towards the preservation, integration, adaptation and adoption of ancestral knowledge and cultural heritage in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By showcasing outstanding efforts, the award aims to inspire the wider community to champion environmental stewardship and contribute to a more resilient and environmentally conscious world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Earthna Prize supports work in the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Water Resources Management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safe food<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainable Urbanism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Land Administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Potential candidates for the Earthna Prize can only be initiatives\/projects from a legally constituted organisation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nominees for the Earthna Prize can come from anywhere in the world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For your entry to be considered eligible, your submission must comply with the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The initiative\/project must have been running for at least two years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least one dedicated member of staff must be available to communicate with the Earthna Prize team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initiatives\/projects must be under a legally constituted organisation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The application must be in English.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Precise contact details for supporters must be provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Nominator<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The nominator can be an organisation or an individual.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The nominator can work with the nominee, with part of their community or be one of the final beneficiaries of the nominee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The nominee will fill in the nomination form and should know the nominee's work very well. The nominee can also request information from the nominee to fill in the form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The nominator must provide the necessary contact information in case the Earthna Prize team wants to contact the nominator for further details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Addressing identified gaps<\/strong>\u00a0. Candidates demonstrate effective integration of traditional knowledge systems to comprehensively address gaps and fulfil needs in focus areas, demonstrating a deep understanding of local contexts and challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>User impact assessment<\/strong>\u00a0. Applicants prioritise tangible benefits for end users, particularly emphasising the empowerment and well-being of the local community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Resilience and community involvement<\/strong>\u00a0. Applicants present a strategy to engage and strengthen the resilience of local communities. This includes a demonstrated commitment to obtaining genuine community consent and support throughout the project lifecycle, fostering a sense of ownership and collective responsibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Political influence and results<\/strong>\u00a0.
