The WIPO Global Awards celebrate exceptional companies and individuals who make intelligent use of intellectual property for commercialisation, while making a positive contribution to society through their innovation and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual prize competition is organised for candidates from WIPO's 193 member states and from various economic sectors. Initially including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the competition introduced a new category for startups in 2024. Proof of registration is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It has no more than 50 employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The start-up has an innovative product or service associated with IP rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The startup has filed at least one application for registration of an IP right and\/or is the holder of at least one registered IP right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The startup is affiliated with a business support organisation, such as an incubator, accelerator or similar entity.
