This program is designed to provide valuable training and practical experience for postgraduate students specializing in terminology, translation, post-editing, translation technology, and technical specialties in the field of intellectual property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brotherhood Positions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scholarship program offers five distinct positions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Terminology Scholarship Recipients:<\/strong>&nbsp;The training involves creating terminology entries for the PCT Termbase, followed by publication in WIPO Pearl.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Translation Fellows:<\/strong>&nbsp;Participants will receive training in translating patent abstracts and patent examination documents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Post-edition fellows:<\/strong>&nbsp;This program focuses on training in the post-editing of patent abstracts and automatically translated examination documents (PEMT).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Translation Technology Fellows:<\/strong>&nbsp;The training covers the use and support of translation and terminology management systems, as well as machine translation systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Technical Specialist Scholarship Recipients:<\/strong>&nbsp;Individuals with prior experience in the industry or as researchers in a specific technical discipline, providing specialized knowledge to PCT translators while receiving training in the PCT system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants will be mentored and trained by the dedicated team from WIPO&#039;s PCT Translation Division during their fellowship in Geneva. Fellowships typically last a minimum of three months, during which fellows receive a monthly stipend of 5,000 Swiss francs (taxable), along with medical coverage. WIPO also assists with travel and visa arrangements, although fellowships cannot be conducted remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Terminology Bag<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current pursuit or recent completion of an advanced degree (Master&#039;s, PhD, or equivalent) in terminology, translation, a related linguistic discipline, or a technical field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong linguistic ability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Native speakers of Arabic, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish with excellent knowledge of English are invited to apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Translation Grant<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Currently pursuing or recently completed an advanced degree in translation, terminology, a related linguistic discipline, or a technical field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong linguistic ability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates must translate into their native language.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications are accepted for Japanese-English and Korean-English language combinations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Post-editing grant<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Currently pursuing or recently completed an advanced degree in translation\/post-editing, terminology, a related linguistic discipline, or a technical field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong linguistic ability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post-editing should be done in the native language (target language).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications are accepted for combinations of Chinese to English and English to French languages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Translation Technology Grant<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Currently pursuing or recently completed an advanced degree in translation technology, translation, a linguistic discipline related to a translation technology component, or a technical field such as computational linguistics or information technology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong linguistic ability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Candidates will be required to work in either English or French.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical Specialist Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least a bachelor&#039;s degree in a technical or scientific field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven experience in the industry or as a researcher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High level of language proficiency in English and a second language.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications are accepted from native speakers of Arabic, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and
