This initiative, successfully launched on 4 December 2023 during COP28, invites eligible beneficiaries to apply for grants. The CAW aims to accelerate adaptation actions in Africa's least developed countries, providing a unique opportunity for projects aligned with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the Climate Action Window (CAW)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The CAW is structured in three sub-windows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Adaptation:<\/strong>&nbsp;75% financing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mitigation:<\/strong>&nbsp;15% of financing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Technical Assistance (TA):<\/strong>&nbsp;10% funding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each sub-window will have a separate Call for Proposals (CfP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Adaptation Subwindow - Call for Proposals (CfP1)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The focus of the 1st Call for Proposals is the Adaptation Sub-Window, targeting projects that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Building resilience to the impacts of climate change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improving adaptive capacity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address systemic vulnerabilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key information:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Paris Alignment:<\/strong>&nbsp;Projects must be aligned with the objectives of the Paris Agreement on climate mitigation and adaptation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong>&nbsp;Adaptation should be the project's main objective.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Areas of focus:<\/strong>&nbsp;Reduce the underlying causes of climate vulnerability, strengthen adaptive capacity and remove barriers to adaptation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project Scope:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support adaptation to climate change and climate variability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building resilience to climate-related shocks and extreme events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen the adaptive capacity of ecological, social or economic systems or political processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Priority Areas:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Highly transformative and impactful adaptation projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration of gender, youth and disadvantaged communities in fragile conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why sign up?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This call for proposals represents a significant step towards mobilising resources for impactful climate action in Africa, addressing critical needs in areas such as agriculture, water security, early warning systems and resilient infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application process<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible beneficiaries are encouraged to follow a simple enrolment process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sign up:<\/strong>&nbsp;Create an account on the site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eligibility questions:<\/strong>&nbsp;answer a few eligibility questions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Access Model:<\/strong>&nbsp;Access the Concept Note Template for CfP1 Adaptation sub-window.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications can be submitted in English or French.
