We are offering up to US$100,000 in non-equity funding for early-stage, for-profit technology startups that can improve children&#039;s lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your company is leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data science (DS), drones, blockchain, or extended reality (XR), we want to hear from you! We are specifically seeking companies registered in one of the following countries:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicefventurefund.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2023-08\/unicef-programme-country%20%281%29.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNICEF program countries that have prototypes<\/a>&nbsp;impressive work and a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.org\/innovation\/stories\/unicefs-open-source-approach-innovation#:~:text=Shared%20value%20partnerships%20generating%20open,funding%20for%20open%20source%20solutions.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">commitment to open source licensing<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UNICEF&#039;s Venture Fund is seeking to make up to US$100,000 in non-equity investments to provide early-stage (seed) funding for for-profit technology startups that have the potential to improve the<\/strong>&nbsp;health<strong>nutrition and mental health of children.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your startup leverages a cutting-edge technology such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, drones, blockchain, or extended reality, we are looking for you. The Venture Fund&#039;s primary motivation is to identify &quot;clusters&quot; or portfolios of initiatives around emerging technologies so that UNICEF can shape markets and learn from and guide these technologies for children. We invest in solutions that concentrate approximately US$$ 100 billion in cutting-edge technology spaces such as blockchain, virtual and augmented reality, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Venture Capital Fund is particularly seeking solutions that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.org\/innovation\/innovation-portfolios\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Face the challenges<\/a>&nbsp;to accelerate results for children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are optimized for resource-limited environments (e.g., low connectivity, limited mobile access).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Focus on reducing, rather than widening, inequalities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are capable of delivering in multiple languages, including minor languages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At UNICEF, we prioritize solutions that not only leverage advanced technologies but also maintain rigorous data protection measures and safeguarding principles to prioritize the privacy and well-being of individuals. Furthermore, we value a comprehensive approach that strengthens systems and services, recognizing the importance of building resilient and sustainable infrastructure to effectively support health and mental health initiatives, in order to achieve lasting positive long-term outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are we looking for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>UNICEF&#039;s innovation portfolio approach prioritizes addressing the most challenging problems faced by children and young people through nine thematic portfolios, including maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, nutrition, mental health, youth, and humanitarian response to reach the most vulnerable populations.
