Online study is an excellent way to obtain a qualification while continuing to work flexibly and live from home. Online qualifications through the University of Edinburgh are fully equivalent to degrees taught on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Candidates can apply for either of the two:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Online Master&#039;s degree (part-time for 3 years)<br>Master&#039;s degree programs are typically designed for those who have completed a bachelor&#039;s degree and wish to develop more specialized knowledge in the same subject or a similar career field.<\/li><li>Online Postgraduate Diploma (part-time for 2 years)<br>Postgraduate diplomas are intended for those considering a potential career change and tend to be more vocational. Applicants with a bachelor&#039;s or master&#039;s degree from a university in Sub-Saharan Africa may also apply (provided they graduate before December 2022).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Available courses<\/strong><br>Scholarships are available only for the following online postgraduate programs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>International Development<\/li><li>Global Food and Nutritional Security (Master&#039;s or Diploma)<\/li><li>Global Challenges (Master&#039;s or Diploma)<\/li><li>Carbon Management<\/li><li>A Health (Master&#039;s or Diploma)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility for Scholarships<\/strong><br>You must meet the eligibility criteria to apply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Applicants must be academically qualified for admission to the University of Edinburgh for a relevant undergraduate program as indicated above. Generally, they should have obtained the equivalent of a UK Second Class (Upper) Bachelor&#039;s degree (Hons) or higher. Learn more about postgraduate entry requirements for your country.<\/li><li>Applicants must have completed their undergraduate studies before December 2022 and must possess a graduation certificate and an official, final transcript to upload with their application.<\/li><li>Candidates must be residents and citizens of a sub-Saharan African country.<\/li><li>Candidates must lack the financial means to study independently.<\/li><li>We particularly welcome applications from female academics, academics of refugee and displaced person origin, and academics with disabilities.<\/li><li>Candidates must demonstrate a history of leadership and service within their community.<\/li><li>If applying for the master&#039;s program: Applicants must not have previously completed a postgraduate course and must not be enrolled (or applying for enrollment) in a separate university while on the Mastercard Foundation scholarship.<\/li><li>If applying for the PG degree: Applicants may hold a bachelor&#039;s or master&#039;s degree from a university in Sub-Saharan Africa (provided they graduate from either degree before December 2022). If you hold a master&#039;s degree, our admissions team will review your first degree (bachelor&#039;s) to ensure it meets the entry requirement for the postgraduate degree.
