Projects whose main beneficiaries are <strong>mums<\/strong> and\/or <strong>children<\/strong> will be prioritised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Eligibility Criteria<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Only projects will be studied <strong>implemented by local organisations<\/strong> (projects must be submitted by the local structure responsible for the project)<\/li><li>Compatibility with existing local initiatives<\/li><li>Objectives and activities related to and consistent with the M\u00e9rieux Foundation's mission and centred on HIV\/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, hepatitis, neglected tropical diseases and other infectious diseases that represent significant public health issues<\/li><li>Projects based on <strong>local needs assessment<\/strong><\/li><li>Projects they propose <strong>concrete solutions<\/strong>in addition to <strong>education<\/strong> and <strong>sensitisation<\/strong><\/li><li>Projects that <strong>adapt to the target population<\/strong> and are from <strong>long term<\/strong><\/li><li>Projects that adopt a <strong>global approach to health<\/strong>including physical, social and psychological aspects<\/li><li>Projects with <strong>direct impact on the mother and\/or child<\/strong><\/li><li>Respect for <strong>ethical principles and gender equality<\/strong> project implementation<\/li><li><strong>Strong local involvement: <\/strong>links with local authorities, local associations and beneficiaries<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligible Countries<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Africa:<\/strong> Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Tunisia, Senegal, Togo<\/li><li><strong>Americas: <\/strong>Brazil, Haiti<\/li><li><strong>Asia:<\/strong> Bangladesh, Cambodia, Iraq, Iran, Laos, Lebanon, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Vietnam<\/li><li><strong>Oceania:<\/strong> Vanuatu<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondation-merieux.org\/en\/what-we-do\/improving-conditions-mothers-children\/small-grants\/\">visit the following link<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application deadline:<\/strong>  1 August <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The M\u00e9rieux Foundation is offering 5,000 euros for projects that contribute to improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.
