Up to 4 October 2026, visionary entrepreneurs in Cape Verde have an unmissable opportunity to shape the future of the archipelago by applying to the “Entrepreneurs for Resilience 2027” programme. This programme, designed to identify and support business initiatives that tackle the pressing challenges of climate and social resilience, seeks innovative projects that contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous Cape Verde. We firmly believe that the entrepreneurial spirit is the driving force behind innovation and adaptation, particularly in a context of growing vulnerability to extreme weather events.

Cape Verde, with its island geography and fragile ecosystems, faces significant environmental and socio-economic challenges. Drought, coastal erosion and the management of water and energy resources are just some of the problems that require creative and sustainable solutions. It is against this backdrop that ‘Entrepreneurs for Resilience 2027’ stands out as a catalyst for change. We are looking for proposals that present viable and scalable business models with a positive and measurable social and environmental impact.

This programme is open to a wide range of sectors, from sustainable agriculture and the blue economy, through renewable energy and waste management, to eco-responsible tourism and technological solutions for environmental monitoring. We are not only looking for solutions, but also for entrepreneurs with the passion, vision and ability to implement them on the ground. The support provided may include funding, specialist mentoring, access to networks and training in areas crucial to the development and expansion of their businesses.

For Cape Verdean entrepreneurs, this is an opportunity not only to secure the support needed to turn their ideas into reality, but also to position themselves as leaders in building a more resilient future for their country. Switzerland, through the Swiss Re Foundation, is committed to supporting these initiatives, recognising the transformative potential of local entrepreneurship.
