{"id":1482,"date":"2020-12-24T19:26:29","date_gmt":"2020-12-24T20:26:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wecare.center\/?p=1482"},"modified":"2020-12-24T19:26:32","modified_gmt":"2020-12-24T20:26:32","slug":"edital-data4covid19-africa-challenge-2021-100-000-eur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wecare.center\/en\/bolsas-e-fundos\/edital-data4covid19-africa-challenge-2021-100-000-eur\/","title":{"rendered":"Call: Data4COVID19 Africa Challenge 2021 (100.000 Eur)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A l&#039;Agence fran\u00e7aise de d\u00e9veloppement (AFD), together with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expertisefrance.fr\/\">Expertise France<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thegovlab.org\/\">GovLab,<\/a>is soliciting innovative proposals for (re)using data in a collaborative and responsible manner to provide actionable intelligence for decision-makers and individuals to respond to the challenges of COVID-19 and future pandemic challenges across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Application deadline: February 5, 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AFD, together with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.expertisefrance.fr\/\">Expertise France<\/a>&nbsp;e&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/thegovlab.org\/\">GovLab,<\/a>is seeking ideas and proposals that (re)use data to provide actionable insights about COVID-19 throughout the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/data-policy\/mapping-how-data-can-help-address-covid19-a7be2e631aec\">following domains:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PUBLIC HEALTH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Tracking the spread of diseases<\/li><li>Development of Disease Treatment<\/li><li>Identifying the availability of supplies<\/li><li>Monitoring adherence to non-pharmaceutical interventions<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Economic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Support for post-pandemic reopenings and recovery.<\/li><li>Alleviating unemployment and poverty related to the pandemic.<\/li><li>Guarantee of Protections for Workers<\/li><li>Supporting Education and Upskilling<\/li><li>Business Development and Government Solvency<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SOCIOPOLITICS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Understanding public perceptions and behaviors<\/li><li>Protecting human rights and promoting accountability.<\/li><li>Addressing misinformation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates must submit their application in English or French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for a scholarship, the applicant must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Whether a legal entity (legal person) or a group of such persons (consortium) within the limit of 3 legal entities per group;<\/li><li>The consortium&#039;s main partner must be established in one of the African Union countries;<\/li><li>International organizations and trust funds are excluded;<\/li><li>To have a bank account in the entity&#039;s name;<\/li><li>Each member of the consortium must be registered with the Trade and Companies Registry of their country;<\/li><li>Be directly responsible for the development and implementation of the action and do not act as an intermediary. Subcontracting is not permitted.<\/li><li>The average annual cumulative turnover of the main partner over the last two years for which accounts were closed must be at least three times the grant application;<\/li><li>The overall liquidity ratio (current assets\/current liabilities) for the last two closed financial years must be at least 1 (one). In the case of a consortium, this criterion must be met by each of its members.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligibility verification is performed based on the supporting documents requested by the project. The supporting documents requested at this stage are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The statutes or articles of association of each partner;<\/li><li>For each member, an extract of registration in the Commercial and Business Registry (RCS) (less than 3 months old);<\/li><li>Document specifying the name and function of the entity&#039;s legal representative;<\/li><li>A document that delegates power of attorney from each member of the partnership to their principal partner.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When these documents are not provided in English or French, a translation of these documents must be attached for the application review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benefits<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The call offers beneficiaries a contribution of between 50-100K in funding.
