The impact of Sport Accelerator Lab<\/strong>advanced course promoted by the Community365<\/strong>This is already beginning to be felt in the area. Proof of this is the mentor Carlos Tavares<\/strong>who successfully led the realisation of the Kumunidadi Fest 2025<\/strong>a large-scale community event held in the neighbourhood of Ponta d'\u00c1gua<\/strong>the city of Praia, by the hands of the Maracan\u00e3 association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the technical support of Comunidade365 and in conjunction with various local and international partners, the event brought together more than 1680 people<\/strong> in a single day, in 23 cultural, sporting, social and entrepreneurial activities, positioning itself as a one of the biggest community festivals in the country<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From training to practice: real impact on the territory<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Carlos Tavares is one of the participants in the advanced course Sport Accelerator Lab 2025<\/strong>This training programme enables leaders to turn sport into a tool for community development and youth leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Favela Cup<\/strong> e Street Basketball<\/strong> with young people from all over Praia<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Kumunidadi Empreende<\/strong>local products and services fair<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Urban culture: graffiti, muralism, Spoken Word and Kriolo Clash<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 28 partner organisations<\/strong>These include the representation of the Central \u00danica das Favelas in Cape Verde, the Azorean association Aprender a Viver, the Ministry of the Family, Praia City Council, Record Cape Verde and others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Legacy and international projection<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    As well as revitalising local pride and generating income for the community, the festival opened doors to new opportunities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • A Declaration of Ponta d'\u00c1gua<\/strong> will be presented at the World Forum of Favelas<\/em>, South Africa (November 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Young people selected to represent Cape Verde at World Slum Cup 2026<\/em>, Dakar Youth Games<\/em> and the CUFA Music Festival<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Rehabilitation of the Ponta d'\u00c1gua EBI sports centre with the support of partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
