The fellowship programme seeks to promote freedom of expression and online privacy around the world by facilitating collaboration and conversation between diverse stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: 30 December 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grants include funding to attend four GNI Council meetings and networking events and participate in GNI activities including, but not limited to: policy and learning calls on digital rights issues, development of policy analysis papers and attendance at multi-party regional meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fellows will gain insight into company decision-making, build relationships with company representatives and other GNI members, gain knowledge through members-only meetings and discussions, and have the opportunity to contribute their knowledge to GNI's exclusive multi-stakeholder forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Three one-year scholarships of US$ 10,000 will be awarded to organisations based in Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Applicants must be based in Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, or sub-Saharan Africa.<\/li><li>Demonstrated experience or interest in and aptitude for working on freedom of expression and privacy issues in the ICT sector.<\/li><li>Ability to attend three face-to-face meetings (health and travel restrictions permitting) and one remote event (call-in), as well as preparation calls.<\/li><li>The willingness to designate a member of the application organisation to be the main point of contact for this grant.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Recommended qualifications<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the required qualifications mentioned above, candidates with experience in one or more of GNI's four policy priorities should strongly consider applying, these are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Network interruptions<\/li><li>Intermediate responsibility<\/li><li>Surveillance<\/li><li>Affirmations and jurisdictional limits<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entries must be submitted by those individuals who would represent their organisation for the duration of the scholarship.
