With the generous support of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, YSA will award after-school grants of up to US$ 500 each to support youth-led service or service learning in after-school programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scholarships are offered on a competitive application basis and are open to any after-school programme that meets the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All activities must put the health and safety of students first, following the COVID-related guidelines of the federal, state and local governments;
Beneficiaries will engage at least 50 young people as volunteers in service projects or service learning between December 2020 and May\/June 2021;
Beneficiaries agree to submit an online impact report by 30 June 2021;
Preference will be given to programmes that involve a large percentage of young people from disadvantaged communities;
Applicants should focus on engaging young people in middle and high school;
Applicants can work locally, regionally or statewide. After-school coalitions are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for multiple grants;
Candidates must be based in the United States; AND
Activities can take place any time between mid-December and the end of the 2020-2021 school year. We will provide additional planning resources to beneficiaries of the MLK Day of Service (18 January 2021) and\/or Global Youth Service Day (23-25 April 2021); participation in both days is optional.
