The 16th edition of Sport BootCamp will take place in São Nicolau, at the Ribeira Grande Municipal Library, from 9 to 14 September 2024, from 14h to 17h30. This will be the last edition this year and it has the partnership of the Câmara de Ribeira Brava, Tarrafal de São Nicolau and the local company SUCLA. This event is funded by the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee and implemented by WeCare Centre.

São Nicolau will host Sport BootCamp for the first time, thus marking the event's passage through all of Cape Verde's islands.

Sport BootCamp is a competition for business ideas in the sports sector aimed at all entrepreneurs in the sector, but also at anyone who wants to do sports management training, certified by the International Olympic Committee.

Registration is free and available until 6 September at: https://wecare.center/sport-bootcamp/. You can also register with the Sports Councillors of the São Nicolau and Tarrafal de São Nicolau local councils. The local councils will also provide support in travelling to the training according to their location. Places are limited.

This is a week-long opportunity for participants to work on their business idea with renowned national and international professionals in the sector.

Each idea or organisation can be presented by one person or groups of up to 4 participants. The 3 best ideas will go on to the second phase of their project, which will take place in 2025, with a long-term training course, the Sport Accelerator Lab.

This event aims to promote entrepreneurship through sport and impart skills to generate profitability opportunities for sports clubs, stimulate an entrepreneurial mindset to boost the creation of sports-related businesses, develop sustainability strategies and identify innovative projects, as well as increasing the participation of athletes in building business models.

Sport Bootcamp has been held in Cape Verde since 2019 and has already had an edition in São Tomé and Príncipe in 2022. More than 150 promoters have already taken part and many businesses are already operating in the market.
