Leonardo Cunha, Administrator of WeCare, participated in the InfoSession – Civil Society Call, organized by the European Union, a program that supports civil society organizations at the European and international levels.
The meeting aimed to reinforce the role of civil society organizations as key factors in biodiversity conservation, the management of protected areas, and the creation of inclusive economic opportunities for local communities, with particular attention to young people, women, fishing communities, and rural populations.

The initiative also highlighted the potential of nature and sustainable tourism in Cape Verde as a tool for valuing natural resources, strengthening community participation, and generating lasting social and economic impacts.
During the session, the application procedures, technical requirements, and priority areas were discussed, with emphasis on social inclusion, civic participation, human rights, and sustainable development. The new European Union call for proposals to support nature and sustainable tourism projects was presented, clarifying doubts, eligibility criteria, deadlines, and the importance of innovative initiatives with a sustainable impact.
