Ivete Rosa: "Sport BootCamp and Sport Accelerator Lab gave me many tools to apply to the Olympafrica Centre" Ivete Rosa was one of the participants in the first Sport BootCamp, which took place on the island of Sal as part of the African Games in Praia. She took advantage of her training to formalise her idea for an Olympafrica Centre in Cape Verde and, in 2022, she started the Sport Accelerator Lab, which according to her was a fundamental training course to create the necessary structures for her project, which is now a reality. "I learned how to make budgets, understand the organisation of Human Resources and make partnerships with interesting organisations for my project. In 2023, the Olympafrica Centre submitted seven projects at international level and we managed to get funding for all of them," said Ivete Rosa. "It was thanks to my participation in these programmes that we are proud to have these results today," she added. The results have also given them the confidence to work harder and explore more project ideas for submission, enabling them to have more funding opportunities. By 2025, they have at least three more projects in the pipeline. "My advice to all young people is to take part in Sport BootCamp and work your way up to the Sport Accelerator Lab, because you'll gain a lot of experience, a lot of knowledge and you'll have the chance to have a life-changing experience." There are many projects to be carried out, as well as creativity and, even more so, the local need to bring new experiences to the public of Santa Cruz, which can now count on the Olympafrica Centre as a space for community integration.
