Are you a sports coach living in Cape Verde? Are you interested in specialised training to boost your career and lead the development of women's sport in the country? Your opportunity has arrived!
Applications are now open for the FEMCoach project, a project funded by the European Union and implemented in Cape Verde by the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee, which will take place between 13 and 16 May 2024 in Tarrafal de Santiago, Santiago Island. The project guarantees free local transport (on the island of Santiago), accommodation and meals for all the selected participants.

With an intensive 20-hour training programme, FEMCoach offers structured training in two main areas:
- Integral training for young athletes: leadership and holistic development
- Technical and tactical development: teaching and learning methodologies
General course objectives
- Train coaches in inclusive methodologies for sports development.
- Develop technical, pedagogical and leadership skills.
- Promoting practices that encourage female participation and equity in sport.
Background to the FEMCoach project
FEMCoach is part of the Erasmus+ Sport initiative for collaborative partnerships, with the specific aim of promoting social inclusion through sport and physical activity. This project aligns with important European guidelines, such as the Council Recommendation on Health Beneficial Physical Activity, the EU Physical Activity Guidelines and the Tartu Call for a Healthy Lifestyle. In particular, FEMCoach focuses on empowering female coaches, fulfilling the Recommendations and Action Plan of the High Level Group on Gender Equality in Sport (2022).
