The 4th edition of the Sport Accelerator Lab starts on 24 March with trainees from various islands in Cape Verde. The programme lasts nine months, with the first week dedicated to intensive face-to-face training and the remaining months to the continuous and gradual investment of the trainees in their case studies through distance training and mentoring.
The participants all had initial training with the Sport BootCamp that took place in 2024.
For this edition, the Sport Accelerator Lab will focus on the areas of Strategic Management, Organisational Development, Sports Event Organisation Management, Financial Management, Human Resources Management and Marketing Management.

Strategic Management - Leonardo Cunha
Leonardo Cunha, CEO of WeCare and Managing Director of Social Development Hub, has extensive experience in strategic management and social entrepreneurship. An international trainer and lecturer, Leonardo is responsible for the Comunidade365 programme and is part of the Sport Accelerator Lab.
Human Resources Management - Ivete Rosa
Ivete Rosa is recognised for her outstanding work in sports development and youth training in Santa Cruz. Director of the Olympafrica Centre in Santa Cruz, she has proven experience in leadership, sports safeguarding and human resources management.
Financial Management - Dilma Vieira
Dilma Vieira, who specialises in Financial Management, has over 20 years' professional experience. Currently manager of the BIC Incubator, she has coordinated various entrepreneurship programmes. With a solid background in accounting and business management, Dilma contributes significantly to the financial training of the participating organisations.
Sports Event Organisation Management - Rodrigo Bejarano
José Rodrigo Bejarano has over 20 years' experience in sports management and event organisation, with renowned international academic training. Founding president of the Cape Verde Paralympic Committee (COPAC), Rodrigo specialises in adapted sport and social inclusion and is an internationally recognised trainer.
Organisational Development - Elton Gonçalves
Elton Gonçalves is facilitating the Organisational Development course. With consolidated experience in project management and social entrepreneurship through WeCare, the Lideras Association and the Cape Verde Paralympic Committee, Elton stands out for his dedication to social innovation. He is a Mandela Washington Alumni Fellow (YALI) from Indiana University, specialising in community leadership and fundraising. He currently supports entrepreneurs as an Entrepreneurship Coach at the High Authority for Immigration - AAI, I.P.
Marketing Management - Susana Duarte
We are delighted to have Susana Duarte, a specialist with almost two decades of experience in the areas of communication and marketing, acquired in leading organisations in Cape Verde and Portugal. Recognised for her strategic skills and inspiring team leadership, Susana is currently President of the Social Development Hub (SDH), a non-profit organisation created after being a finalist in the 3rd edition of the Sport Accelerator Lab. SDH works for human development and the creation of synergies between the social, private and public sectors.
Susana is also the founder and Community Manager of WeCare, a social enterprise dedicated to the strategic management of communities and the marketing of international projects. She also holds the position of Communications Manager at ACOLOP (Associação de Comités Olímpicos de Língua Oficial Portuguesa), where she promotes Olympic values in the Portuguese-speaking community. She also represents CUFA Cape Verde, linked to the Central Única das Favelas, which originated in Brazil, promoting social entrepreneurship globally.
