Community365 recently paid an institutional visit to the association Childrens TrustThe aim was to get to know the work of this community initiative, which has been transforming lives through sport and informal education.

Founded in October 2022 and led by Ronivaldo CostaChildrens Trust is committed to crime prevention through sport and strengthening communities with a multifaceted approach. It currently has more than 100 athletes enrolled in sports such as football and combat sports - including boxing, kickboxing, MMA and, in the future, muay thai and basketball.

With just 12 formal membersBut with a strong local presence and impact, the association organises regular leisure, recreational, socio-educational and cultural activitiesThese range from health fairs for children and the elderlyuntil sports exchanges, community cinema screenings and competitive boxing events.

The Childrens Trust's areas of intervention go beyond sport and include issues such as citizenship, community empowerment, environmental awareness and animal protectionas well as prevention of gender-based violence (GBV).

During the visit, Community365 was able to witness the enthusiasm of the young athletes and the commitment of the association's entire team to the promoting healthy and inclusive alternatives for personal and collective development. The initiative reflects the power of local action to create real opportunities for positive change in the capital's neighbourhoods.

Comunidade365 reaffirms its admiration and willingness to collaborate with Childrens Trust in the future, in a joint effort to strengthen community support networks in Cape Verde.
