A Maracanã Cultural and Sports Association, a EFAT (Achada Grande Trás Football School), a Fidel Mendonça Foundation and AISAPH-CV (International Academy of First Aid and Pre-Hospital Care of Cape Verde) recently achieved an unprecedented milestone: they were the first organisations to be certified by the Community365, an initiative that aims to strengthen the social and community sector through sport in Cape Verde.

A Community365 certification recognises institutions that stand out for excellence in management, measurable social impact, innovation and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Being certified is more than a seal of quality - it's an attestation of integrity, responsibility, transparency and commitment to real results for the communities served.

A official presentation of certificates occurred in the past 17th July 2025during the 37th anniversary of the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee. The solemn moment was attended by representatives of the certified organisations, and the certificates were awarded by the President of the Cape Verde Olympic Academy, Orlando Mascarenhas and President of the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee, Filomena Fortes in a symbolic gesture of recognition and encouragement to strengthen the country's social ecosystem.

"This is an essential step towards strengthening the trust and credibility of the Cape Verdean third sector, promoting organisations that act effectively and with a vision for the future," says the programme's coordinators.

Benefits of certification include:

  • Greater credibility with financiers and strategic partners;
  • Integration into a network of high-impact organisations;
  • Priority access to exclusive programmes;
  • Institutional recognition as an agent of transformation.

The certification comes at a time when Cape Verde is investing in the valorisation of social initiatives that use the sport as a tool for inclusion and human development. By establishing clear criteria of excellence, Comunidade365 is positioning itself as a reference platform for strengthening the social impact ecosystem in the country.

This programme is promoted by the Cape Verde Olympic Academy e operationalised by WeCare, a social enterprise focused on sustainable development and social innovation.
