With the Young Global Changers Recoupling Awards, the Global Solutions Initiative aims to identify and recognise young changemakers from around the world who are actively contributing to a better alignment - a "recovery" - of economic prosperity with environmental sustainability and the needs and demands of societies, communities and individuals. The award seeks to recognise concrete practices and impactful projects led by young people who drive change on the ground, while serving as examples and inspiration beyond their immediate impact.
To be successful, projects must be guided by a people-centred approach that puts the needs and voices of their stakeholders, clients, workers or communities at the centre. Projects must go beyond the idea stage and can include social enterprises as well as non-profit activities. The finalists present their projects at the Global
Who are the Young Global Changers?
Young Global Changers (YGC) are individuals with innovative ideas about how to make this world a better place. They must have developed a project or initiative to turn these ideas into action.
The Young Global Changers programme brings together these young people from around the world who are working towards a global paradigm shift, combining their talents and together becoming a strong voice for change.
Since 2017, the Young Global Changers programme has attracted more than 410 students and young professionals from over 120 different countries to take part in the Global Solutions Summit and the Global Solutions Summer School.
All eligible candidates will go:
- Become a member of YGC's extended network
- Receive invitations to GSI events, workshops, contribute to ongoing discussions and much more.
- Scholarship to attend the Global Solutions Summit 2023
- Receive exclusive networking opportunities.
- Receive an opportunity to present your project in front of a jury and an international audience.
All candidates who qualify to be in the top 50 will be part of our 2023 Young Global Changers cohort. All 50 projects will be presented on the Global Solutions website. The representatives of the most outstanding projects will have the opportunity to travel to Berlin and take part in the 2023 Global Solutions Summit (15/16 May 2023). The best will have the opportunity to present their project at the Summit in front of a renowned jury and an international audience. The jury will select three winners. The overall winner will receive a prize of 5,000 euros, the runner-up will receive 2,000 euros, and the third-place winner will win 1,000 euros. The selected projects will have the opportunity to receive additional mentoring, training and further support to help improve their project or initiative.
