Applications are now open for the World Habitat Awards 2025 . The World Habitat Awards recognise and highlight innovative, outstanding and sometimes revolutionary housing ideas, projects and programmes from around the world. More than 360 exceptional World Habitat Awards projects have been recognised over the years, demonstrating substantial and lasting improvements in living conditions.
The World Habitat Awards competition has been organised by World Habitat in partnership with UN-Habitat since 1985. During that time, some of the world's most outstanding and innovative housing projects have received international recognition for their work.

Prizes
The two winning projects of the GOLD Award receive:
- a trophy in recognition of their work in developing and implementing good practices in housing;
- cash prize of £10,000;
- follow-up support from World Habitat through the exChange programme; and
- entry into the World Habitat Awards Network, along with the Silver and Bronze winners.

Open to projects from all over the world:
- focus on adequate and affordable housing;
- have taken measures to deal with the climate emergency;
- are underway or have been completed in the last ten years;
- are taking measures to promote diversity, equality and inclusion; and
- were designed and/or delivered in close collaboration with the local residents/community.
Please note that projects in the design/prototype/planning phase or completed more than ten years ago will not be considered.
