The World Cancer Research Fund International Regular Grant Programme: An Overview

The World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRF) is pleased to announce the launch of its Regular Grants Programme, which aims to support innovative, high-quality cancer prevention research. This programme offers funding for projects that explore the risk and protective factors associated with cancer, in order to inform effective prevention strategies.

The WCRF Regular Grant Programme is open to researchers from all over the world and covers a wide range of research topics, including diet, nutrition, physical activity, body weight, smoking, alcohol and other environmental factors. Funded projects must have the potential to significantly advance knowledge about cancer prevention and contribute to reducing cancer incidence and mortality.

The programme is highly competitive and proposals will be evaluated by a panel of international experts on the basis of strict criteria, including relevance, scientific merit, potential impact and researcher capacity. Selected projects will receive funding for up to three years, with a maximum grant value of £250,000.

The WCRF recognises the importance of cancer prevention research in reducing the global burden of the disease. By supporting innovative research, the Regular Grants Programme aims to accelerate progress in understanding the causes of cancer and identifying effective strategies to prevent its occurrence.

In addition to funding, the WCRF also offers support and guidance to funded researchers, connecting them to a global network of cancer prevention experts. The programme also promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing between researchers, facilitating the advancement of the field of cancer prevention.

The WCRF Regular Grant Programme is an exceptional opportunity for researchers to conduct cutting-edge research into cancer prevention. By supporting innovative projects, the programme aims to contribute to a future where cancer is prevented, treated and defeated.
