About the Award: Venture for Africa is a 3-month fellowship programme designed to immerse the best global talent in the African startup scene. We partner with Africa's fastest growing startups to co-design an experience that allows fellows to quickly gain relevant skills and market knowledge, complete real project work and be fast-tracked to apply for a full-time role in their field.
Applications are now open and can be accessed via the organisation's website. Interested candidates can find open roles ranging from marketing, finance, operations, data science and engineering, and apply online.
That's how it works:
- Get Matched: Fellows are matched with specific roles relevant to their skills. Fellowship programmes are co-created with VFA startup partners.
- Stay immersed: Fellows spend three months in their role, during which time they are immersed in the local context, receive training from specialised mentors and are able to understand the nuances of the market.
- Get Working: Fellows work on delivering real projects for their assignees. Startups. The final projects are presented to the startup team, and the fellows receive feedback.
- Get hired: Although full-time roles are not guaranteed, fellows are accelerated through common application processes to full-time roles at startup partners.

Value and Duration of the Prize:
- This 3-month, full-time remote fellowship allows talented individuals from anywhere in the world to immerse themselves in working with high-growth startups in Kenya that are busier than ever in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
- Scholarship holders also receive a stipend for their work for the duration of the programme.
