Priority will be given to women, among whom those from Least Developed Countries will have the highest priority. The scholarships will last for one year and may be extended for a further year subject to satisfactory performance. Fellows will be selected on the basis of their skills and background in relation to the respective areas and focuses of UNU-EHS/ViE and the UNFCCC. Upon completion of the UNFCCC - UNU Early Career Climate Fellowship Programme,

Applications for scholarships will be accepted during the following period: 2nd December 2022 to 31st December 2022

A maximum of 12 grants will be awarded per call/cohort.

Candidates must originate from a developing country and be 32 years old or younger at the time of enrolment. In the case of candidates with dual nationality, in order to be eligible to apply, one nationality must correspond to a less developed country and the candidate must have resided in the less developed country for a minimum period of six (6) years.

In addition, candidates must be enrolled in their final term or have completed an advanced university degree (master's, doctorate or equivalent), with top grades in areas relevant to the work of UNU-EHS/ViE and the UNFCCC (see:  http://ehs.unu.edu/https://unfccc.int/ for more information on the fields in which UNU-EHS/ViE and UNFCCC are actively engaged). NB: Applicants do not require international work experience to be eligible to apply.
