Are you aged between 18 and 35, from Africa and have a climate mobility solution you're working on? Apply for African Climate Mobility Youth Solutions 2023 to receive up to US$ 5,000 to support your work over the course of a year.

The Africa Climate Mobility Initiative (ACMI) Youth Forum and the Global Centre for Climate Mobility (GCCM) Solutions Lab are launching a call for applications for youth-led climate mobility solutions/projects in Africa to receive funding of up to $5,000 per project. With financial support from the Robert Bosch Stiftung, this new funding agreement for youth-led global mobility solutions/projects has been designed by young people for young people. They believe in harnessing the potential of young people and breaking down barriers to young Africans' access to climate finance, to create innovative solutions that promote climate resilience to enable people to have positive adaptation journeys in the midst of the climate crisis.

The Africa Climate Mobility Initiative (ACMI) is looking for passionate and dedicated youth organisations, groups and individuals with innovative projects that focus on climate resilience in disaster-prone areas to address fast- and slow-onset climate events. They are interested in projects that address the needs of climate migrants and individuals displaced by climate change (people on the move), refugees and people at risk of displacement. Solutions/proposals must be homologated with at least one of the following thematic areas:

  • Dealing with loss and damage
  • Climate literacy in vulnerable and disaster-prone communities
  • Storytelling and art for climate awareness
  • Restoring ecosystems in disaster-prone areas
  • Green jobs in vulnerable communities and internally displaced persons, refugees, migrants and young people
  • Politics and defence
