Applications for the National Humanities Centre Scholarship Programme 2023 are now open. Designed with the needs of humanists in mind, the National Humanities Centre provides scholars with an environment and resources conducive to generating new knowledge and deepening their understanding of the human experience.
Here, they enjoy the freedom to concentrate on their work in the beautiful Archie K. Davis building, take breaks to walk paths through the surrounding pine forest and share ideas with colleagues working on a fascinating variety of projects from across the humanities disciplines. Scholars also take advantage of the Centre's exceptional support services, including the Centre's excellent librarians and attentive catering staff. Scholars can apply for year-long or semester-long scholarships or, if they work at one of the Centre's sponsoring institutions, they may be eligible to take part in the month-long summer residency programme.
VALUE
- Scholarship amounts are determined individually, according to the needs of the students and the Centre's capacity to meet them.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants must have a doctorate or equivalent academic credentials. Mid-career and senior academics are encouraged to apply. Emerging academics with a strong track record of peer-reviewed work may also apply. The Centre does not support the review of doctoral theses.
- In addition to all areas of the humanities, the Centre accepts applications from scholars in the natural and social sciences, the arts, the professions and public life who are engaged in humanistic projects.
