Applications are now open for the FCMB Agritech Hackathon & Venture Building Programme 2024 . The AgriTech Hackathon and Venture Building 2024 Programme, supported by FMO, is designed to seek out, identify and prepare early-stage companies across Africa.
The format of this 6-month programme involves a 3-month Hackathon and prize-giving day, 6 weeks of Venture Building sprints and an Investor Day programme with a documentary premiere. These are designed to provide innovative high-impact AgriTech startups with the relevant business and product development tools needed to prepare their solutions to society's agricultural challenges and attract follow-on investment.The project will last 6 months in two main phases:

BenefitsThe winners of the hackathon will receive cash prizes, mentoring, etc., including qualification for the venture creation programme, where the top teams will receive funding, office space, access to industry networks, marketing support and opportunities for partnerships, collaborations and investments.
Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil the following criteria:
- Your business idea should be in the early stages of development.
- You should have a team with a combination of skills and experience relevant to building an Agritech business. This can include experience in agriculture, technology, business development and marketing.
- You should have a strong passion for agriculture and a desire to make a positive impact on the industry.
- You must be committed to participating fully in the programme and work hard to develop your enterprise.
- Whether it's a legally registered company, a business name or a limited company, individual teams of hackers are also encouraged to sign up for the hackathon.
