The ProVeg Grants programme offers experience and support to high-potential organisations focused on transforming the food system.

The ProVeg Grants programme is accelerating the transformation of the food system by providing support to organisations involved in this vital work. Since 2019, ProVeg International has awarded more than 500 grants to organisations and individuals in more than 70 countries. they provide financial support and capacity building assistance.

Benefits
  • $ 5,000- $ 50,000 per year
    • ProVeg Grants offers financial support of between US$ 5,000 and US$ 50,000 per year. Whilst they would love to fund all the high quality proposals they receive, unfortunately grant funds are limited and therefore not all applications will be accepted. In all cases, the awarding of grants is at the sole discretion of ProVeg International.
  • Access to over 200 experts
    • ProVeg beneficiaries receive access to a network of more than 200 specialists working in the area of food system transformation.
  • Individual consultations
    • They provide individual consultations to beneficiaries, providing advice on organisational structure, strategy, impact initiatives and other important facets of their work.
  • Resources and support
    • They provide various other resources in the form of reports, research , webinars and events throughout the year.
Focus of Intervention
  • Applicants should aim to implement one or more of the following interventions:
    • Engaging schools and universities
      • Reaching young people from an early age, either by making their meals more vegetable-friendly or by educating them directly about the benefits of plant-based diets.
    • Influencing dietary guidelines
      • Encourage decision-makers to provide dietary recommendations that cover the broad spectrum of plant-based diets and help fulfil health and climate goals.
    • Interventions health
      • Engage with healthcare professionals to implement plant-based nutrition in healthcare.
    • Food Industry Events
      • Accelerating and empowering innovative food technologies by bringing together key stakeholders at industry-orientated events.
    • Corporate Engagement
      • Working with companies and decision-makers and institutions to develop, provide and promote healthy, compassionate and sustainable plant-based options.
    • Corporate Ratings
      • Campaign using rankings to raise public awareness of the companies' herbal products.
    • V label
      • V-Label is a registered and internationally recognised label for vegan and vegetarian products and a trusted resource for consumers. By becoming a regional V-Label partner, you can generate stable and reliable revenue, as well as providing a useful tool for connecting with and supporting plant-based businesses.
    • Labelling restrictions
      • Campaign against labelling restrictions.
    • Political Reach
      • Work with governmental and intergovernmental agencies, NGOs and researchers to create plant-orientated policies and practices.
    • Movement construction
      • Work to support other NGOs, alliances, advocacy groups and communities in transforming the food system.
    • Challenge campaigns
      • Supporting individuals or teams to reduce their consumption of animal products through fun and engaging challenges.
    • Vegetable Festivals
      • Inspire and educate the general public to adopt a vegan lifestyle through face-to-face events.
    • Public Disclosure and Social Media
      • To provide inspiration and support to help reduce and eliminate animal products from people's diets.
Election criteria
  • Applicants must be individuals or organisations.
  • They prioritise proposals from outside the UK, Germany Holland, Czechia, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Belgium, Nigeria, Malaysia and the United States.
  • They do not support individuals and organisations working to improve the welfare and conditions of farmed animals.
  • They prioritise organisations that are led by and employ women , people of colour and other marginalised people in a significant way.
  • Beneficiaries must align themselves with the safe space and respectful workplace values of the ProVeg Grants programme.
Ineligible
  • Animal welfare reforms or welfare campaigns
  • Animal husbandry or other use of animals
  • Projects that use animal products (food of animal origin, leather, etc.)
  • Projects or organisations that benefit, support or are impartial to livestock or other animal exploitation
  • For-profit companies
  • Food banks, hunger relief or food expenses
  • Gardening projects
  • Book production
  • Animal rescue or care
  • Political parties or candidate endorsements
  • Legal defence
  • Protests, demonstrations or vigils
  • Tuition, student research
  • Working in the United States or in international chapters of US organisations
