Impact Areas and Subsidy Criteria
  • Access to education
    • They support organisations that address unequal access to primary and secondary education among marginalised communities.
    • Reduce barriers and increase enrolment of disadvantaged individuals (particularly women and girls) in primary, secondary, post-secondary and vocational programmes.
    • Providing direct education or learning opportunities to populations that are traditionally disadvantaged due to race, gender, socio-economic status, disability or geography.
  • Environmental sustainability
    • They support efforts to improve environmental sustainability through resilience, mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
    • Educating community members about responsible environmental care, for example energy and water conservation, waste reduction, recycling, responsible forestry, sustainable packaging, product safety and resource conservation.
    • Increase community and ecosystem capacity to adapt and recover from the negative impacts of climate change.
    • Providing direct support for projects related to the environment (forests, water, air) that contribute to social, environmental and social well-being. communities.
  • Secure livelihoods

  • Grants usually range from US$ 50,000 to US$ 100,000.

Donation considerations
  • When reviewing materials, ADF also considers the following:

    • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
      • They prioritise funding for organisations that demonstrate diversity, equity and inclusion in their work and cultivate trust and belonging in the communities they serve.
Ineligible
  • ADF does not sponsor
    • Conferences, fundraisers and special events.
    • Organisations that discriminate against a person or group on the basis of age, political affiliation, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or religious beliefs.
    • Individual scholarships, stipends, bursaries, travel allowances, etc.
    • Profit-making organisations or ventures.
    • Religious groups for religious purposes.
    • Political organisations, candidates, electoral measures or other political activities.
    • Institutional appropriations.
