The AIG Public Leaders Programme (AIG PLP) offers emerging African public sector leaders a unique opportunity to develop their leadership capacity and acquire the skills and knowledge needed to drive change. Run in conjunction with Oxford University's Blavatnik School of Government, the programme offers an immersive experience of world-class executive education, led by some of the world's leading public policy experts and professors.
The programme is designed to ensure that these senior public leaders, and those who are moving on to senior leadership in the public sector in the next three to seven years, master a range of new skills as quickly as possible. Participants have an unrivalled opportunity to develop the conceptual frameworks and practical tools they need to meet the challenges of today's complex and fast-changing world.
Participants work on these critical skills:
- Communicating effectively
- Making the most of digital technology
- Reduction of cognitive bias in decision-making
- Strengthening organisational effectiveness
- Maintaining personal integrity
To ensure that each participant can get the most out of the programme, ample opportunities are provided to bring together the skills and conceptual frameworks learned in each session, including through project work and group reflection.
After weeks of hybrid teaching, programme participants are given a window of time to develop a final project, allowing them to apply the programme's key learnings in their daily work.
