Applications are now open for the ICANN 2024 Fellowship Programme to attend ICANN Community Forum82 . The goal of the ICANN Fellowship Programme is to strengthen the diversity of the multistakeholder model by promoting opportunities for individuals from underserved and underrepresented communities to become active participants in the ICANN community.
Fellows are exposed to the workings of the ICANN community, assigned a mentor and receive training in different areas of expertise and skills development before, during and after an ICANN public meeting. Travelling assistance to attend the meeting is also provided.Eligibility
Participants in the Scholarship Programme must:
- Be at least 21 years old;
- Be interested or already involved in the various components of ICANN's work in policy-making, the operation of the Domain Name System and the security and stability of the global Internet;
- Complete compulsory ICANN Learn course(s);
- NOT be involved or associated with other ICANN-supported travel programmes at the time of selection;
- Candidates for the Policy Forum must have successfully completed an ICANN fellowship;
- Have not previously received more than two fellowships; second and third time fellows must prove their involvement and engagement in one of ICANN's communities.
RequirementsScholars are expected to:
- Get involved in the scholarship programme's mentoring processes
- Complete additional mandatory ICANN Learn courses
- Participate in the ICANN public meeting and the necessary activities, including but not limited to ICANN fellowship sessions during the ICANN meeting
- Network and interact with programme alumni and community members
- Fill in the post-meeting survey
Participants are encouraged to actively contribute to ICANN's policy development processes and to the Fellowship alumni network upon completion of the Fellowship Programme.
