Deadline: 13 October 2023

Applications are now open for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at the University of the Western Cape 2024 . Started in 2012, the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme is a global initiative designed to develop the next generation of transformational leaders by enabling highly talented and service-oriented young people, particularly African youth, to pursue higher education and cultivate their leadership potential.

The Academics Programme is aimed specifically at young people whose access to higher education is hindered by economic and social barriers. The programme places special emphasis on reaching young women, refugees and forcibly displaced young people, and young people living with disabilities, who are encouraged to apply.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at UWC supports academically talented young people from South Africa and other parts of the African continent. For Academic Year 2024, the UWC Scholars Programme will provide fully funded opportunities for young academics to study for undergraduate or master's qualifications.
