The Mastercard Foundation Masters Scholarship Programme at the University of Edinburgh for Postgraduate Students will provide 3-year part-time online Masters scholarships and 2-year part-time postgraduate scholarships to students living or working in Africa with high academic and leadership potential but limited educational opportunities.
The University welcomes young people committed to pursuing their studies digitally to apply for an Online Scholarship at the University of Edinburgh. Online study is an excellent way to obtain a qualification while continuing to work flexibly and live from home. Online qualifications through the University of Edinburgh are fully equivalent to degrees taught on campus.
Candidates can apply for either of the two:
- Online Master's degree (part-time for 3 years)
Master's degree programs are typically designed for those who have completed a bachelor's degree and wish to develop more specialized knowledge in the same subject or a similar career field. - Online Postgraduate Diploma (part-time for 2 years)
Postgraduate diplomas are intended for those considering a potential career change and tend to be more vocational. Applicants with a bachelor's or master's degree from a university in Sub-Saharan Africa may also apply (provided they graduate before December 2022).
Available courses
Scholarships are available only for the following online postgraduate programs:
- International Development
- Global Food and Nutritional Security (Master's or Diploma)
- Global Challenges (Master's or Diploma)
- Carbon Management
- A Health (Master's or Diploma)
