Non-governmental organisations around the world that operate football-related social projects are invited to apply for the FIFA Foundation Community Programme.
The aim of the FIFA Foundation Community Programme is to support well-established non-profit organisations that use football to address the most pressing global challenges affecting disadvantaged children and young people, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To this end, the FIFA Foundation provides annual financial support to cover a wide range of costs, including institutional and programme-related costs, as well as costs related to projects, initiatives, events and workshops.
The programme seeks to involve NGOs in a variety of initiatives that contribute to good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, the eradication of the poverty The competition is aimed at reducing inequalities, peace, justice and strong institutions, as well as promoting decent work and economic growth. NGOs are encouraged to show how they use football to tackle social issues and promote positive social change. The comprehensive selection process involves strict eligibility criteria and requires organisations to submit an extensive range of supporting documentation in the areas of finance and child protection.
The FIFA Foundation will hold two online training workshops to help interested parties with the application process. The first workshop will cover the process in general terms and the financial aspects, while the second will deal with safeguarding and the criteria that each applicant organisation must meet in order to be considered for the programme.
Scope
- Development support through ongoing, regular and well-established football programmes or projects
- Main beneficiaries: children and young people
- Gender balance among beneficiaries must be achieved or a valid justification must be provided as to why this has not been met
- Activities must be carried out frequently: at least once a week and for a minimum of eight months a year
- Outside the scope of the grant
- Support for player development initiatives or any projects linked to professional football
- Staff or team trips are not clearly related to the main project activities
- Projects without clear social development objectives related to football activities
- Proposals featuring only one-off events

- Up to US$ 30,000 per year
- 1st January 2025 - 31st December 2026
Election criteria
- To be eligible for the FIFA Foundation Community Programme, an organisation must meet the following criteria:
- Be a legal and registered entity with non-governmental status in the country where the proposed activities will be implemented
- To be politically and religiously independent and non-profit-making
- Not discriminatory in any way (on social, ethnic, racial, religious, financial, gender, talent, etc. grounds)
- Being a direct implementer of proposed activities that use football as a tool to address social issues, target children or young people and provide development opportunities for vulnerable people
- Submit a proposal presenting activities that are carried out on a regular basis
- Be committed to transparent practices in the areas of accounting, administration and governance
- Be financially sustainable and have a long-term approach
- Be committed to child protection and have a child protection policy in place
- Not be affiliated with FIFA Commercial Affiliate competitors
