About the UN SDG Action Award
At the halfway point of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the world is at a crucial moment when transformation is possible and every action is important.
Imagination carries great power. What we can imagine, we can make happen. By harnessing creativity and diversity anchored in trust and solidarity, we can work together to create the future in which we thrive in harmony with the planet. The UN SDG Action Award is a signature programme of the SDG Action Campaign The UN is looking for initiatives and individuals that mobilise, inspire and connect people to drive positive change. More than 3,000 entries and nominations are received each year from over 150 countries. After the technical review process that identifies the finalists, a Panel of Judges A high-level judging panel made up of leaders from all sectors and geographies selects the winners. The finalists and winners will be revealed and celebrated at an inspiring and creative UN SDG Action Awards ceremony, broadcast live globally.
This application form is for initiatives applying for the MOBILISE, INSPIRE and CONNECT categories.
The application categories for 2023 are:
Mobilise: Initiatives that turn apathy into action, mobilising hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of individuals to act for the SDGs. We are looking for high-impact initiatives, usually involving collective and coordinated actions that mobilise people to Reverse the Roadmap and achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Inhale: Initiatives that harness the power of creativity to inspire positive change and shift behaviour towards the SDGs. We are looking for inspiring initiatives and campaigns that flip the script to change individual behaviour and/or public policies.
Connect: Initiatives that turn division into unity, connecting diverse sectors and partners - from citizens to institutions - to accelerate progress on the SDGs. We are looking for initiatives that flip the script and connect people, organisations and institutions to take advantage of commitments and responsibility in relation to the SDGs.
To take part in an initiative to win, start by registering and filling in each section of the application form. Your application can be saved and edited whenever you return. Once submitted, you will no longer be able to edit your application. The best applications will offer clear evidence of support, such as photos and videos and endorsements from participants in your initiative.

About the UN SDG Action Campaign
The UN SDG Action Campaign is a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General organised by the United Nations Development Programme, with a mandate to CONNECT, MOBILISE and INSPIRE people and organisations from all sectors and geographies to take action on the SDGs. Based in Bonn, Germany, with a lean team that organises advocacy strategies and initiatives to inspire action on the SDGs.
