Deadline: 5th November 2023
Applications are now open for the True Story Award 2024 . The True Story Award is the first global journalism prize. Its aim is to make the voices of reporters known beyond the borders of their home countries and, in doing so, increase the diversity of perspectives offered in the media.
The True Story Prize is awarded by an independent foundation and honours reporters who write in 10 languages, who stand out for the depth of their research, the quality of their journalism and their social relevance.
Prizes
The underlying core of the award is the gathering of journalists from all over the world and the exchange with the public in Bern. The 36 nominees selected by the local jury (one person per nominated text) will be invited to present their work at the True Story Festival from 24 to 26 May 2024.
The main jury will select the three best texts from the 36 nominees, which will be honoured as follows:
- First prize: 25,000 francs.
- Second prize: 15,000 francs.
- Third prize: 10,000 francs.
The premiere ceremony will be held as part of a festival on Friday 24 May 2024 in Bern, Switzerland.
