Do you know any courageous and innovative change agents who strive to create a fairer, more peaceful and sustainable world for those around them? Nominate them for Right Livelihood Award 2024 .

Every year since 1980, the Right Livelihood Prize has been awarded to four courageous agents of change. The prizes are usually awarded in the form of three cash prizes and an honorary award. The cash prizes are intended to directly support the Laureates' cause and expand the impact of their work. The honorary award is intended to recognise equally outstanding achievements - albeit, where the benefit is seen through the recognition and support provided as a result of the Award.

The Prize immediately connects Laureates with dozens of leaders in change who are already part of the Right Livelihood community. It can also serve as a protection tool for Laureates whose lives and freedoms are at risk, through greater international attention on themselves and their causes, as well as the lifetime support offered to Laureates.

Recognising the diversity and interconnectedness of the world's challenges, as well as the solutions to them, the Prize has no set categories by which Laureates are considered or honoured. The Prize recognises individuals and organisations that have contributed greatly to a more just, peaceful and sustainable world through a variety of practical and innovative solutions in different fields around the world.

Prize

The year's laureates receive an award-winning sculpture made of Humanium Metal, often called "the most valuable metal in the world".

Eligibility

Open to the public;
The nominee can be from any country in the world;
Nominations are accepted in English, French and Spanish and can be submitted from mid-December to early March.

Appointment

Once the nomination has been received, the organisers contact the nominee directly to obtain some information and their formal consent, which is a fundamental aspect of their "do no harm" principle.
