Applications are now open for the Marŝarto 2023 Award . The Marŝarto Awards recognise outstanding walking art created in the previous year. The awards culminate in October, coinciding with Walktober, the global call to promote walking as a creative experience.
The work can include a variety of formats, approaches and subjects, from a wide range of creative disciplines, including the arts, heritage and history, health and well-being, social practice, journalism, performance, literature and theatre, ecology, tourism and much more.
Benefits
- The travelling art that makes it onto the shortlist earns bragging rights.
- Winners and honourable mentions receive a physical prize. In addition, the winners receive a cash prize of 250 euros, the honourable mentions receive a cash prize of 100 euros.
Eligibility
- Everyone can apply with their walking piece.
- The work entered needs to incorporate "walking" as an integral part of the piece.
- Any walk piece created in 2022 or 2023, and submitted to the walk - listen - create site, is eligible. Sound walks are not eligible.
